The New Yorker has amazing writing. My wife subscribed to the physical magazine and it is so good.
I find I can't read it on the web properly though: my brain will be in scan mode and want to skip ahead and get to the point.
But where I sit with a coffee and the magazine it's a whole different experience. Non-fiction works that aren't stretched out to fill a whole book, but instead 10-20 k words.
They are the novellas of non-fiction publishing.
- mellosouls 5y agoYes, I agree and know it isn't as good but my halfway house is to just pocket-to-kindle and read articles like this on that.
- dayofthedaleks 5y agoHave you tried the Kindle edition on a tablet? It's the same layout as the printed edition.
- browningstreet 5y agoI recently re-subscribed to the New Yorker, NYRB and Trail Running magazine. The difficulty I had sitting and reading an issue, or a portion of, was really surprising. I’ve had to retrain myself to read in a way that I used to all the time.
