It's a very misleading statement to bluntly compare a consumable Ressource with a recycle metal. While it is known that lithium itself has environmental issues the potential reuse and benefit of pulling it out of the earth to make batteries will have a very long and positive outcome for us. And to a certain degree the initial disruption might be totally worth it in the long run in comparison to stuff we just burn away.
