> Chaillan, the former military software chief, has certainly earned his right to an opinion about how quickly the US is developing its cyber defenses and artificially intelligent computers. And now that he’s taking his knowledge of how the Pentagon works to the private sector, he’ll probably make good money addressing his concerns.
Chaillan has a lot to gain by claiming that were behind in AI as he pivots into private industry. Did this strike anyone else as ridiculously unprofessional behavior for someone coming out of the military? We don’t yet have a Military-AI Complex in the same way that we had a Military-Industrial Complex after WWII, and I think a lot of Americans are OK with that for now as we come off of 20 years of uninterrupted war.
