I use pg-boss (https://www.npmjs.com/package/pg-boss https://www.npmjs.com/package/pg-boss) which plugs really nicely into Postgres. It allows you to define task queues or scheduled jobs, and if you're already running Postgres you don't have to host any other infrastructure!
