We’re a dual engineer couple, but still only pay 400 EUR/mo for 8-9 hour/day daycare for our 1 year old, and it would be a bit less if we had more than one kid, and a lot less if we were significantly under Germany’s median household income level or only wanted half days. I want for my fellow Americans what I enjoy here. Every kid should be able to have a parent at home with them their first year.
