Where I am in SF it seems to be the opposite. Until a few years ago the power would go out every time it rained heavily but at some point they fixed it and now we get electricity when it rains. (Major roads still become impassable when it rains because it happens infrequently enough they’re not built with a camber.)
- MichaelZuo 5y agoThere aren’t rainwater drainage systems for SF roads? Seems surprising.
- laurencerowe 5y ago280, the main motorway out of SF has standing water on it every time it rains heavily. Seems to be built with a different profile to motorways in UK which are cambered for the rain to run off. Guess it must just not be worth it given how rarely it rains heavily here.
- chaostheory 5y agoYeah SF right now seems to be the most resistant to power outages just because it’s not going through our fire prone nature preserves
