1) previously you had to worry only about browser fingerprinting to avoid being tracked 2) currently some countries planning/want to implement covid check-in at every place you wanna enter 3) and now you have to worry that some private company want to make a modern fingerprint (irisprint?) that most likely is going to be used to at least another way of ad tracking. However with 3) you won't be able to easily protect yourself - you cannot change eyeballs. Maybe you will have to wear some special contact lenses.
