Ha. Reminds me of my grandmother. She's quite old now but the doctors told us she had dementia. One day Mum was telling me about it and I said, "make sure they understand she's deaf, and will just smile and nod if she doesn't hear properly." Next appt, mum goes with her and lo and behold, she doesn't have dementia, she needs a new hearing aid.
