While the statement "more coups have happened in 2021 than in the previous five years combined" is technically true, I think the "coups are making a comeback" statement is pretty dubious just by looking at the graph at the beginning of the article.[1] If anything, coups peaked in the mid 60's and has steadily declined ever since.
