If you get good at chess, what exactly are you good at? Winning a board game? Is that worth 3-4 years of your life?
- chaorace 5y agoChess is a hobby, nobody locks you in a gravity chamber the day you decide to start practicing. You are perfectly free to do other things, so "spending years" is rather hyperbolic, I feel. Is it worth it? Probably not, but who the hell lives life like that? I defy you to show me a person who never devoted a moment of their lives to something fun, yet pointless.
