This is a fun way to think. I don't have a sense for whether or not it's the _right_ way to build a business / be successful / etc. But as an engineer, it's fun to imagine and if they raised the money to attack the problem that way, good for them.
Building data pipelines takes a lot of work and involves a lot of pieces, so it's a worthy problem. As the article states, there is a lot of competition, not just in the individual pieces like dbt and Fivetran, but from similar-minded orchestrators like Mozart Data and others.
- quantified 5y agoIf you don’t have an extreme money/business crunch to ship before the foundation is set, you can apply experience and imagination much better. Hope they have that runway.
