this seems amongst the first actions that modern dictators do when taking down democratic regimes.
... and that will be much more difficult in a few years when technology and providers like Starlink are more widespread.
- notsure91111 5y agoYou'll probably find some journalists still had internet access - neighboring country reception, high latency satellites, roaming, corporate providers etc.. so I dont think Starlink will help a lot - its not like the masses will ever be able to afford it (even if it ends up being $30/mo it will be out of reach for nearly all Sudanese). These measures are usually about keeping the masses in the dark and off social media so they cant share info and organize protests etc..
