An entire article about a cactus and not a single photo of it?
- pvaldes 5y agoIs a Mammilaria. One of the most easily recognizable and common genus of Cacti in homes by having the spines at the top of small bumps (Like in a passive heatsink). You can expect a round and small plant with an unique head or a lot of little ones. With small spines (some straight and other shaped as a treacherous hook but relatively weak) and a ring of small flowers yellow whitish or purple close to the top, but not in the center of the plant. Followed by elongated red fruits like minute peppers. I assume that not having photos is on purpose to avoid wannabee thieves searching for the plant in nature and stealing it.

Not having pictures in content that has a heavily visual context is annoying as shit. The argument that it's to prevent over-collection is silly, though. More likely, the author is inexperienced, the content came from a content farm, or there is some seo fuckery making the lack of pictures somehow desirable, perhaps penalizing images that aren't original and the author was too lazy to snap their own picture. C-. Use pictures.
