Investors seem to pay large premiums for companies that have a certain quality of "we know what the future is and we're building it". All the other companies doing it are somewhat riding on Tesla's coattails. They think Tesla will be around in the future and much bigger than it is now, I'm not sure the same can be said for any other car manufacturer to lesser or greater degrees.
