I'm a senior dev in the EU. Got 9 years in my previous job. Changed job ~1y ago, I got several offers to work on very interesting stuff, without too much trouble, both in start-ups and in more established companies. I didn't try FAANGS. While I fear doom you've mentioned, I haven't witnessed it yet.
