For myself, I'd like to see use-site variance replaced with declaration-site variance. It's really painful sometimes to have type arguments within generics more than one level deep; you have to start adding `? extends` (usually; or `? super` occasionally) at all the intermediate levels. I somewhat suspect Java is locked into its current approach to variance, but gosh, I much prefer Scala's approach here.
