Ultra-processed vegan and vegetarian foods: are they as healthy as they look?
- southerntofu 5y agoInteresting article, but: > “Ultimately, meat and fish are never going to be a processed food, because they are a single ingredient food,” explains Sophie Medlin, Dietician and Chair of the British Dietetic Association for London. This part is very misleading. Of course meat straight out of a "decent" butcher's shop is going to be just meat. But industrial steaks/hams/etc are very well documented to be full of chemicals for taste, conservation, color... Also in some countries (like the USA), cattle is usually fed with all sorts of supplements and antibiotics. So not exactly "single ingredient".
