When I was in charge of a Jenkins server, one of complains was not having a way to have a list of failed builds of a job, other than email. Fortunately jobs on Jenkins has RSS feeds for such things. This certainly solved the problem of having to develop yet another in-house app/plugin/hack.
RSS is such an underrated technology. It sure could use an update such creating a push protocol instead of pulling the world and be more dynamic with a standardized basic content selection API (something like querystring?last_updated=10&tags=subject1;subject2).
And the honesty of the feed is so precious. I want to be able to build my own algorithm. Too bad good RSS clients aren't around and a lot of platforms terminated their RSS feeds.
