hey just a heads up, your account is shadow banned
  • PostThisTooFast 5y ago
    What does that mean?
  • perihelions 5y ago
Wow that's a lot of [dead] comments. I can't even scroll back to the start of them! This commenter says it started in 2015 (I assume that's accurate), https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27191052 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27191052 >"Hey @PostThisTooFast, you seem to be shadowbanned based on two flagged comments when your account was new in 2015. Hey @dang, this account has made many good comments since then." To anyone confused by this thread, look at the "showdead=[yes|no]" toggle in your HN preferences.

Thanks, but I still don't know what that's supposed to mean. Nor what I'm supposed to do about it. I don't tolerate HN's disregard for users, namely their bullshit of letting us type out questions or answers and THEN whining that we're "posting too fast" and preventing us from submitting what we just spent time composing. That is disrespectful, ȧṡsḥole behavior that nobody needs to tolerate. They want to ban me for outing them as assholes? Then let them do it OUTRIGHT. But doing some underhanded "shadow ban" is right in line with the rest of their weaselly, anti-user behavior.
