- klyrs 5y agoSure, if you insist on reading past the part where I expect everybody to demand better for themselves and I'm dismayed when they don't.

- klyrs 5y agoShe/her, millenial, and my employer is only entitled to the time that I consent to giving; literally fire* me if you don't like it. I don't demean union work, in fact, I prefer it; but I know that's unpopular here. * don't have the authority? Then fuck off, you're the entitled one for thinking you can dictate my hours! edit: also, I don't work in a widget factory. When I stop work on a task, work on that task stops. I measure my productivity in tasks completed, and it would take months to train somebody to do my work. If I don't get my work done on time, a larger project deadline slips. I work very hard to ensure that never happens.
- sidlls 5y agoNot to suggest it means anything, but one parent (very privileged Gen-X, male, white) to another: I sincerely admire your perspective and confidence. I really am disappointed in how so few of our peers (regardless of gender or generation) have either in this context.
- klyrs 5y agoAs you're well aware, our job isn't to be loved. Our job is to set a good example, and not cave when the going gets tough. I certainly don't need to be loved by petulant non-parents.
- RNCTX 5y ago> She/her, millenial say no more, lol
