I never knew that, thank you. Will use it the next time somebody insists I wear a tie. It was funny though - when I was a teenager I was a bit skint, like most. You needed to wear a suit and tie to get into most nightclubs at the time. Obviously a suit was a bit spendy, so you generally had 1 decent suit, so the only way to differentiate yourself each time was a new tie. Must have bought hundreds of the bloody things, only to discard them after 2 or 3 uses. Had a discussion about this a few weeks ago - is Tie Rack still a thing? They used to have shops everywhere in the UK, but maybe they're still around at airports or whatnot?
