"Have curious conversation; don't cross-examine." "Be kind. Don't be snarky." Note that if we go to your GP comment and take out the parts that break those guidelines, there's nothing left of it. That's a good clue, actually - it means you probably shouldn't have replied. The parent comment was obviously breaking the site guidelines and should have been flagged and left alone.
