It's a defense against trolls acquiring those patents and leverage to force license on transfer deals with other large cos.
- monocasa 5y agoTrolls have no problems finding patents, it's not that limited of a pool that you can suck them all up. And sure about MAD with big companies, but that's orthogonal to my comment on trolls.
