Our company issued us Windows laptops but all of our devops/SRE/cloud services and workflows were developed and built by and for MacBook users, with no thought as to the other half of the company that would need to work with them. It took me twenty minutes to get WSL installed and running, and now I can actually support the things I’m paid to support! I have inadvertently also become the SME and one-stop WSL support shop, for everyone else in the same boat. Which, as it turns out, is a great many people….
