Ingenious wall could harness enough wind power to cover your electric bill
- sp332 5y agoThat's cool, but you don't really need 25 turbine generators for this, right? You could chain multiple axes together and have them connected to ton generator. That should help with the weight.
- jalk 5y agoI suppose the trade-off is cost vs efficiency - eg. loss in your “chain”
- jazzyjackson 5y agono mention of whether it ever breaks-even on energy input to manufacture
- robbedpeter 5y agoA highball guess: A 1kw generator would cost around $70, so the generators and power components would cost around $2000. Throw in another $1500 for the structure, and $500 in setup labor. $4000 usd, and assume 10% of peak potential output per day, so (24hx25kw)/10 = 60kwh/day 14 cents per kwh x 60 x 365 = $3066 worth of power per year. Not bad.
