I did this earlier this week. I was Slacking someone about a nuanced process they work with. I asked a couple of technical questions, and got some technical answers. I was MOSTLY certain I knew what was what - but I ended it with a Yes/No question, and he gave me a "Yes". It is entirely possible there is additional information I should know, and he might have given a better answer if he had sought to understand my problem - but I'm not concerned about that!
