I guarantee you, an M1 is about as fast as your "6 core xeon" laptop. M1 Pro/Max will steamroll it. You can look at Cinebench, LLVM compile, Java benchmarks, etc. You're completely delusional claiming your laptop is 5x faster in CPU. Mocking a "phone CPU" when the A15 is actually faster than a 5950X in single core performance shows you don't know what you're talking about.
- soylentnewsorg 5y agoyes, your 1 year old amd is likely slower than the new m1 chip. maybe. it's also a desktop cpu using 105 watts lol. It'll burn down a laptop. the xeon in the laptop is 45W, and it can maintain 5GHz due to the big exhaust and powerful fan. it's also got an NVIDIA RTX GPU in it. cinebench? strange, when I run that, it shows 5% CPU utilization. my GPU is maxed out though. hmm. how about you don't run a performance test on the low power integrated graphics card, and run it on the discreet gpu. oh look, that's not what those geekbench scores did. and no lol, a compile and java code won't run faster on the m1 than a xeon. the m1 has some very specific optimizations for specific instructions to make some benchmarks fast. but you're behind 2 delusions here - thinking amd is faster than intel, is actually reliable for production, then you get your apple delusion. you're the tech version of a trump voter.
