- aaronbrethorst 15y agoHow on earth did you manage to ship three Rails releases on the single nicest day of the year here in Seattle? Also, serious question: is there a target release date for Rails 3.1.0?

- tenderlove 15y agoHaha! I am a glutton for punishment, that is how. Also I plan to drink beer shortly. Yes, as long as there are no crazy problems, I plan to release the final on August 30th. EDIT: I meant to say the 30th! :-( http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-core/msg/f47f9e4a4cdaabd2 http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-core/msg/f47f9e4a...
- shaggyfrog 15y agoAs of right now, there are 6 open issues marked for the 3.1 milestone: https://github.com/rails/rails/issues?milestone=1&state=open https://github.com/rails/rails/issues?milestone=1&state=... That number has fluctuated over the last few weeks, and there is essentially only one "old" one in there still (opened prior to June 16). It's getting close...
- bonzoesc 15y agoHe prepared 'em several days ago, but was waiting on CVE numbers for the vulnerabilities the three releases fix.

- aaronbrethorst 15y agoAh, from the original source. Thanks!

- bstar77 15y agoAaron, we're privileged to have you as a maintainer. Keep up the great work.
- tenderlove 15y agoThanks. I'm doing my best! :-)

- ericb 15y agoOn a separate note, since you're a Ruby core committer, what do you think of the idea of adding CoffeeScript-ish style instance variable syntax for Ruby method definitions? Like this: def tenderlove(@tenderness) end
- tenderlove 15y agoThey seem better. Not sure if it's life changing though.
- wycats 15y agoThat syntax already works in blocks, so it will work with define_method ;)

- judofyr 15y agoOnly in 1.8.
- ROFISH 15y agoI saw your talk on Rails at RailsConf and how to lower the stack depth of the middleware by using a standard interface. How's the progress? From someone who hasn't helped out Rails before and would like to, what can I do?
- tenderlove 15y agoProgress is moving slowly. I'm not sure there's much I can ask you to do. The best thing is if I can lighten my other responsibilities, like bug fixes, etc. :-/
- yannski 15y agoHow all the nodejs fuss regarding performance is affecting Rails development ?
- lobo_tuerto 15y agoIt isn't, as far as I can tell.
