Whatever name they want to call it I still refuse to use social media. It's a cancer and I'm happier without it.

- ddtaylor 5y agoThere is a big difference between things like focused forums / discussion boards and social media. On HN and Reddit I engage with people about specific topics we have shared interests in. On social media (Facebook) you're either subjected to opinions about divisive topics or you exist in an echo chamber =/
