That's just asking for this to happen again. What stops the forum administrator from selling kicad.info or adding their own affiliate code to links?
- rjmunro 5y agoThe forum isn't the official place to download the product or even get documentation about it, so it's much less of a risk.
- Crosseye_Jack 5y agoNothing really, but kicad don't run or maintain the user forums. They are a knowledgebase but they are not the offical knowledgebase.
- delfinom 5y agoNothing. It would be highly discriminatory to declare any one forum as the official one. The user bases across various languages are huge (in fact English is not the majority), electrical engineers are also highly tribal and have their own various communities that are very large. Trying to centralize them into one english forum is downright disingenuous.
