Is this something to do with OOP? I'm sure I remember something about Toyota cars being much more dangerous due to the terrible spaghetti code they run. I know "a bad worksman blames his tools", but maybe there's some sort of pattern here?
- blunte 5y agoI wouldn’t say so. It’s just a complex environment with many moving parts, not the least of which includes a last minute swap of type of aircraft. Ironically, it’s our human limitations which allows us to build systems which we can’t comprehend in entirety, but then our other positive human behaviors we use to identify problems (such as the passengers seated differently from the load sheet) which can save us.
- aryehof 5y agoLol, is OOP bashing reaching new heights, or in this context “altitudes”? This is most likely a services architecture implemented with state-of-the-art procedural code … > "The various elements of the IT system architecture do not 'talk' directly to each other but operate through a variety of interfaces," found the AAIB, adding this "makes errors and inaccuracies more likely."
- tentacleuno 5y ago> Lol, is OOP bashing reaching new heights Ahh. I didn't really want my comment to be read like that. Just repeating something I heard a while back. Sorry.
