Sometimes the articles are free, sometimes they give me an article count of those I have read, and lately I have been getting truncated articles with a "You need to register to keep reading" message. Looking closer at the latter, they do seem to offer an easy bypass that I overlooked. So your right, the Alt URL is not needed. Thanks!
