I wonder if simulation theory, could have some purpose for a filament or tunnel surrounding us? It's odd for sure, sort of like the Cosmological Axis of Evil which basically puts our solar system in the center of the universe (or central meridian) as far as heat is concerned... it's colder below, hotter above us...
