My understanding is that not only was there no connection with anonymity, but the suspect was not anonymous even before the murder, having booked an appointment for the surgery.
Possibly the argument here is with regards to being able to track a particular person's discussions to see whether they are radicalizing? Yet the suspect had already been referred to a deradicalization program. Possibly it is to track people making radicalization efforts online? But are those people actually trying to be anonymous?
- zepto 5y agoExactly - I don’t even see an argument being made that there is a connection.
- 8eye 5y agoexactly said, it’s a terrible approach it seems like a false excuse to push an ever more so intruding government (no matter the country this scenario is true), even the term deradicalization is an issue, it implies that the person is already outside of society, that is further pushing these people into making it a persona. isolation for some, can be extremely toxic mentally, it’s like gangs, some kids in the states feel left out, they don’t have any friends or family. they have no way of surviving so they cling to the first sign of acceptance from a group. it’s the same thing, there’s a deeper issue, that’s NOT being addressed and this type of rhetoric coming from a politician does nothing to address that issue. it actually makes things worse.
