In Russia, experts are challenging official pandemic figures as too low
- HamburgerEmoji 5y agoLong on bias, short on actual information. If the stats are thought to be rigged by policy, say how. I don't suppose the WP wants to get into that, because it's being done everywhere, but not in the direction they're suggesting here. An example of rigging by policy would be not to test those admitted to hospital for COVID if they've been vaccinated, but to test the unvaccinated with a PCR test with an excessive number of cycles. That way, there will be lots of "new cases" (that are not necessarily meaningful, as the test cannot distinguish live from dead viruses) and they'll all be among the unvaccinated. Another example of rigging by policy would be not to consider people vaccinated until 14 days after injection. Inject somebody and they die two days later of a heart attack and stroke? That's another death among the unvaccinated, and maybe another COVID death, if they "tested positive" via inappropriate PCR test.
