I don't know...but I can't imagine large numbers of Americans being willing to die for Taiwan, let alone blow up the world. I think that the general who was afraid President Trump would start a war and reassured China proved what I have believed for a long time - when the chips are down, the people who actually have control are sane enough not to destroy everything, so MAD is a fiction. Unless there is some misunderstanding or screw-up. However, if that's so, then many things must flow from that, logically. My mind is blank right now.
