I'm out in farm country, and while I tried Google's bicycling instructions a few times out here, I very rapidly gave up, because they stood a remarkably good chance of getting me shot. Routing through things that look like a back yard, routing me through clearly marked farm areas with no trespassing signs, routing me through... not even sure those roads connect without going up someone's driveway and over their lawn... ? It was entirely nonsensical. I just stopped using them entirely.
