Thanks for the kind thoughts here all - or at least for hearing me out. I will say, I've been judged pretty harshly for this in the past[0] - with many saying it's some sort of signal of a mediocre developer. I wrote this article to address it head-on because it seems controversial. Even with this article, most have just responded to the title without reading what I wrote[1][2], or have read it but misunderstood what the point was[3] because I didn't include what I worked on in those two years - so I'm really grateful to this community for actually hearing me out and having a more nuanced view.
