Love the factchecking with the loose caveat based on available data. Dead giveaway.
One the one hand they acknowledge small problems turn into big problems, then deny that the vaccine mandate is even a small problem at all.
I think they are scared shitless at the outsized power the unvaccinated have. It only takes a small almost imperceptible percentage to wreak havoc. It also makes it easier to hide.
Forget sick call ins, how many pilots are on leave, refusing overtime, or otherwise using legit reasons to pressure SW?
How many pilots hours did SW pay in the day compared to normal? How many pilots have decided to quit and take a year off until Covid mandates blow over? They can certainly afford too.
- creato 5y ago> The union’s president, Casey Murray, told CBS News that the pilot sick rate over the weekend was consistent with what the company experienced over the summer. This seems like a simple easily verifiable fact that would disprove the vaccine mandate as a leading cause.
- verdverm 5y agoDoes it though? Did any take vacation or quit? Are pilots the only employees that can cause bottlenecks? Does the union rep have reason to only use the pilots sick day rate? My understanding is that there were software issues, but also that the ground crews have been stretched thin. I would imagine the ground crews are more likely to be in the anti-vax demographic.
