I suspect valgrind‘s massif would have helped (massifly). It shows memory usage over time, but also where what fraction of memory was allocated.

- eska 5y agoMy thought as well. I was able to fix a years old memory leak at a prior company using massif within an hour. It’s a really great suite of tools!
