It's not a funny joke, but yes, that too falls in the range of comedy, distasteful and harsh at it is. It's dark comedy. Yet it seems to me you purposefully escalated it 10 levels above the supposed insult in the show. I play a fair amount of games and pretty much every day I see in chat something like this: "I hope your mother dies of cancer". This does nothing to me. It doesn't upset me. Because context matters. It's some anonymous kid cowardly saying the nastiest thing they can think of. Which in male to male dialogue means going for the holiest of holiest: their mother. Who cares? Even if it would offend me...so what? What happens next? Nothing. You don't have a right to not be insulted.
