Should there be a funding quota based on gender for startup teams? Or a hiring quota based on gender for CEOs? In Bulgaria education is free and there are very competitive and selective free high schools that teach languages. When I was there, one high school had a gender quota. The boys admitted needed more than a letter grade less (out of 5) to get into the high school. Another high school had no gender quota and it was 90% girls. Because of the high % of girls in the second school, boys had a very strong additional incentive to be admitted there throughout the years.
