Facebook rents out an appearance of legitimacy akin to that of a news organization to whatever content makes it the most money.
Should that level of amplification and circulation be handed out with zero human editorial oversight?
- hpoe 5y agoCounterpoint: The greatest human atrocities in history were generally carried out with the explicit oversight of "legitimate" viewpoints. I think something should be done but a lot of the suggestions I see seem like "this is something therefore this must be done." I agree however it does seem that giving everyone the ability to push whatever they want has seemed to cause problems.
