The reader comments on this article are overwhelmingly supportive of Chappelle. So why is journalistic opinion on the topic in the u.s. almost entirely not? My best guess is Twitter. Most journalist are active Twitter users and may have imbibed a particular culture from it that is out of step with even the more left leaning parts of the general public, like NYTimes readers.
