DHS Wants Wearables to Track Employee Health at Work and at Home
- theandrewbailey 5y agoI took a shower. What do you mean 'you need to take off the tracker before you get in'?
- anm89 5y agoThat's so nice of them! They're just doing it because they really care Thanks for being a good neighbor three later state beaurocracy
- LinuxBender 5y agoIs this a test run eating ones own dogfood to work out the kinks before deploying it to all citizens that wish to retain a good social credit score? How does a wearable actually know how healthy you are? Is there a bluetooth sensor that goes in your large intestine and in your vascular system to see how much garbage you are eating, your gut bacteria culture populations, your glucose, A1C, LDLc lipo-Protein spectrum, liver enzymes, hormone levels, O2/CO2/Ph levels, nutrient levels, presence of toxins or dangerous gasses? Left/Right arm/leg blood pressure ABI ratios and pulse? 6-lead EKG? If this device exists, I want an open source self hosted server for it. The code for the server and the device needs to be in a public git repo and under a very liberal license. As a bonus, the server appliance should be shaped like a urinal mint and have a urine sensor on top.
- tablespoon 5y ago> Is this a test run eating ones own dogfood to work out the kinks before deploying it to all citizens that wish to retain a good social credit score? No, it sounds like a half-ass Virgin Pulse-esque "wellness" measure (https://www.virginpulse.com/ https://www.virginpulse.com/). > How does a wearable actually know how healthy you are? It doesn't, but hammers are cheap and fashionable, so maybe the problem can be solved by throwing one at it? This is health theater, but what else can you do with funding like this? > The project is broken into five phases, with initial funding capped at $200,000 and later phases reaching $500,000. Each phase is slated to last from three to nine months.
