I'm currently in EE and kinda underpaid I think there's a decent chance to get 5-7x salary increase... On the other hand FAANG/CPU companies don't even write rejection email to me; or I'm just used to different response time + my tech stack doesn't really fit them.

Living costs in EE are so so so much lower than the Bay area. Your real quality of life is much much better probably.

  I do agree that it'd be gigantic quality of life improvement but doing "cool" stuff instead of gluing jsons over https is interesting perspective too
