Looks like writing of someone who does not "get" the game. It is a bit like people who are asking why offside is needed in soccer. If you play with your friends on a beach, surely, does not make much sense, but in a real game on a large pitch it makes hell a lot of sense. "Golf balls went too far and were hard to catch" - I hope nobody else will go that way unless one tries to win Darwin Award...
