How does that work with the recent 'they need to return to the office' + anyone remotely working for Facebook outside the US will never make hundreds of thousands as a developer.
- quickthrower2 5y agoMoney talks, bullshit walks as they say
- loeg 5y agoFacebook announced they would allow all employees to work remotely a few months ago. Pay is location-adjusted.
- cosmodisk 5y agoThat's exactly my point: a dev working for Facebook in Hungary will probably make decent money but it will still be a fraction of what he could be making in the US..
- loeg 5y agoI was mostly responding to: > the recent 'they need to return to the office' Which is counterfactual, unless I totally misunderstood the statement.
- steve_adams_86 5y ago> Pay is location-adjusted This is why I'm not responding. I have a feeling their Canadian offers won't look anything like the article suggests.
- loeg 5y agoThe rough estimates I’ve seen are: $100k USD in MPK becomes about 85k CAD. But also I think they just don’t fill as senior roles in Canada so the upper limit is lower. If you want to make more money, I think it’s worth a shot -- if the offer is bad, you don’t have to take it.
