I'm not certain you'll get a comforting resolution to this niggling question that we all probably have. The rather uncomfortable truth is that there may not be a point. But this, in some ways, makes it strangely comforting also, because the "point" can be whatever you define it to be. That's the way I choose to look at it anyway!
