- wrp 5y agoI want to comment on something she just mentioned in passing, and that is the idea that reading sports statistics is beneficial because it is somehow "mathematical". This is a really old idea and seems to eventually come up in any discussion about getting boys interested in math. In truth, I don't see any way in which reading performance stats involves the kind of model building needed to solve math story problems.
